History of Formosa 

During the 16th century, with the new sea routes discovered, many European countries sent out their vessels to Asia to search for gold.  When Portuguese vessels sailed passed an island covered with high mountains and heavy green forests, they shouted "Ilha Formosa"-meaning "beautiful island".  Ilha means "island" in English.  Today this beautiful island is known as Taiwan where Lisa is from.

LULU

Lulu is a Lhasa Apso. Her previous owner had to give her up so that she could be better taken care of.  Lisa fell in love with Lulu at first sight and brought her home without telling the whole family.  When Lisa came home with Lulu, the kids thought Lisa was the coolest Mom in the world because they have been asking to have a dog for a long time.  Joseph fell in love with Lulu too.  We are really lucky, because she adjusted very well to our home and became a perfect addition to our family.

I grew up with dogs through my early childhood years, my favorite one was Hutch, a poodle mix.  I also had a domestic short hair cat named Mittens, and a domestic longhair cat named Munchkin during my college years.  My loves in life are my wife, my 2 children, Lulu, golf and flying.

         LISA TORTORA, CFMG

 I grew up with chickens, ducks, geese, pigs and dogs.  I love traveling and enjoy sampling the local foods.  I also love cooking and learning new recipes.  I came to the US in '97 and moved to Naperville in 2001.

I am a graduate from the Academy of Dog Grooming Arts.  Currently I am an assistant instructor for the Academy. I am
